Measuring for Blinds Between Glass
To ensure that the blind fits correctly between the window panes, it is important to measure carefully. All measurements must be provided in millimetres.
1. Open the window
Open the window sashes so you can access the space where the blind will be installed. Make sure the tape measure can be held straight during measurement.
2. Measure the width (A)
Measure the available width where the blind will be installed. Measure in several places (top, middle and bottom) and use the smallest measurement.
Subtract 3 mm from the measured width to ensure that the blind does not bind or stick.
3. Measure the height (H)
Measure the height from the inside of the upper window sash to the inside of the lower window sash. Normally, no deduction is required for the height.
If the bottom rail should rest against the lower frame, the height may be increased by 5–10 mm.
4. Check the depth
Measure the available depth between the window panes. There must be sufficient space for the blind and its headrail.
The minimum recommended depth is 27 mm.
5. Double-check the measurements
Write down the width, height and depth, and double-check all measurements before ordering. Incorrect measurements may cause the blind not to fit properly.
Summary
- Width: measure in several places, use the smallest measurement and subtract 3 mm
- Height: no deduction required (optional +5–10 mm)
- Depth: minimum 27 mm
- All measurements must be provided in millimetres
